About Us

Welcome to our website!

We are one of the newest societies incorporated under the Ontario Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs in Ontario, in 2017.  Why are so many people in the Cambridge area joining our enthusiastic group?  

1. Price per member: for only $15 per adult and $5 per youth under 18 for a year-long program

2. Our mission statement: “To provide opportunities for friends and family to embrace nature and build partnerships”.

 In other words:

  • lots of exciting activities throughout the year
  • inclusive for everyone- children, parents, grandparents, friends
  • concerned for all of nature– bugs, bees, butterflies, birds, trees, flowers…  
  • working as a partner within this wonderful community

3. Year-round events:  

A.  Included with membership:

  • Presentations– interesting presenters share their information at Wesley United Church, 6 Cambridge Street, Cambridge (Ainslie Hall, fully accessible).  Social time from 6:15 p.m. with the program beginning at 6:45 p.m. Refreshments and finger foods served. Includes the months of September, October, November, February, and March
  • Garden Walks– from the end of May to almost the end of August, enjoy a large variety of self-guided tours of local private gardens every Tuesday evening from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., rain or shine
  • Excursions– an opportunity to visit various businesses in the Cambridge area
  • Anniversary Celebration – located at different locations each year with complimentary refreshments and food
  • Volunteer Appreciation Dinner– We celebrate everyone who volunteers their time to help make all of our activities possible. We provide everyone with a Complimentary Meal, put on by the Board at a beautiful property.

B. For a minimal cost:

  • Workshops – unique varied workshops held at Cambridge Farmers’ Market, David Durward Centre, Cambridge Centre for the Arts, Cambridge City Hall, Christmas in Cambridge, Crafts in the City and Crafts in the Country
  • “Homes for the Holidays Tour”– during two days at the end of November, enjoy touring private Cambridge area homes seasonally decorated both inside and outside  
  • Youth Camps– unique camps organized and offered with the Cambridge Centre for the Arts during the summer months
  • Tea Time– a delightful afternoon of sweet and savoury food, tea and all the fixings while being entertained by 2 informative presenters
